See through a connection lens!
At an early age, I fell in love with photography. I was the only one in my family who could get everyone in the picture without cutting off their heads and limbs. I came to understand this was called composition, framing what you want included in a photo image. My stepfather recognized my passion and bought me my first professional film camera, a NikonF-1. I soon learned to develop and print images at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. Zoning in on my given talent, I became a Photo Lab Instructor for the City of Los Angeles Parks and Recreation Photo Center.
In the early 1980’s, I went on to become the official photographer for The William Grant Still Art Center and Black Radio Magazine, photographing personalities such as Phil Collins, Stephanie Mills, Ray Parker Jr. and Denise Williams.
In 1986, after serving in the US Army as Battalion Newspaper Photographer, I traveled back to Frankfurt, Germany to live and managed the Kodak Photo Lab & Studio.
In 2006, after following a Calling from God, my Lord and Savior, I traveled to Ghana, West Africa. While on a spiritual and medical mission, I photographed life there. It was there that I received my purpose; that I could use photography to glorify God. Upon my return to California, I founded IONGOD PHOTOGRAPHY. I once read, “GOD writes His signature on each sunset and on each of His unique children as well.” I photograph God’s beautiful signature and create photographic art directed at the eyes and heart.
I am a Photographic Artist. I create works of Art with images of everyday people, places and things I have experienced.
90% of IONGODPHOTOGRAPHY‘S profits go to my photographed subjects.
